Lopper or arborist?
Anyone with a chainsaw can call themselves a tree lopper. An arborist is trained in how trees grow, decay and fail. Marcus holds AQF Level 5 in arboriculture and is a registered QTRA user, so when he climbs your tree he's also assessing whether it's sound.
What we'll do instead of topping
Topping a tree, or lopping it back to stumps, usually triggers a flush of weak shoots and opens the trunk to rot. We use reduction pruning, thinning and selective limb removal to get the size and clearance you want while keeping the tree stable.
Sometimes removal is the right call
If a tree can't be made safe by pruning, we'll say so and quote for tree removal, including council advice.
When to call us
- The tree has outgrown the yard
- Limbs hang over the house or the street
- You want more light or a view back
- A previous lopping job has left messy regrowth
